Lead the initiation and management of all M&A and other corporate development projects (eg, green field start ups, new distribution partnerships) in existing and new markets for the client within the Asia region including, but not limited to: opportunity identification, deal sourcing, discussions with 3rd parties (potential sellers, joint venture partners, etc), valuation, due diligence, seeking internal and external approvals, review of legal documentation, and the development of integration and / or strategic and operational plans.
The role includes leadership of teams comprising both senior internal resources and external 3rd party resources such as legal, accounting, actuarial, and other advisers.
Ensure that the function operates within the approved risk appetite framework and that the appropriate culture, governance and oversight arrangements are in place to manage effectively the risks in the function achieving its objectives.
Regional Office consists of Life, GI and Pension businesses in Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan and Middle East
Professional business qualifications – eg, Law, Accounting, Actuarial, and or MBA qualifications.
Thorough understanding of the M&A and business development processes for acquisitions, disposals, establishing joint venture partnerships and / or new bank distribution partnerships, and green field start-ups
Detailed understanding of life insurance, long-term savings and retail fund management operations
Excellent numerical, analytical, interpersonal, written presentational, and project management skills
