We are seeking a Senior Level Florida licensed (preferred) Architect (and/or General Contractor) to direct on-site activities for complex, multi-discipline vertical construction projects. Candidate will have responsibility for construction administration on a large aviation construction project, including client contact, construction scheduling; organizing, supervising and reviewing the work of professional staff with job site observations; working closely with designers and Project Managers.
The position will report directly to a Project Manager or Principal. Assignments will require the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in scheduling, assigning and coordinating work with other design professionals, Owner’s Representatives and external Contractors and Construction Managers.
Principles and practices of construction management
Construction management industry scheduling and change order resolution
Modern methods and techniques used in the construction of large-scale projects
Experience in large aviation projects preferred
Applicable laws and regulatory codes related to development and construction of aviation and other infrastructures
Principles and practices of effective supervision
Engineering, surveying, construction materials, computer programs for contract administration
Make complex construction contract computations and review plans and specifications for complex large scale buildings
To read, interpret, plan and lay out projects from Construction Documents
Conduct independent project administration
Identify needs and assignments and exercise judgment in carrying them out
Work cooperatively and effectively with the Regulatory Agencies, outside Consultants, Contractors, Owner Representatives, and Local Government Agencies
Monitor and maintain schedule on individual project tasks, multiple projects, and project and departmental budgets
Use a company provided tablet for plan reviews, contract tracking, spreadsheet analysis and word processing applications, Experience working Blue Beam, BIM 360 or other similar programs preferred
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Utilize standard engineering, mathematics, economics and research practices
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff
Registered Architect (preferred) and/or General Contractor, currently licensed in the State of Florida
15-20 years of experience, including the project management and construction administration of large scale projects
Experience working as part of a large, complex design team
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen to work in a restricted-access, secure environment
