Evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients; prescribes drugs that are administered to patients in the practice of dentistry; provides on-site consultation for providers regarding patient evaluation and clinic treatment issues; and serves as facility contact for dental emergencies. Provides emergency call as scheduled in accordance with protocols established in that regard and common and standard practices.
Responsible for personal compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and University rules, regulations, protocols, policies and procedures governing the practice of dentistry and the clinical provision of dental care as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, work place safety, public health and confidentiality.
Develops connections with dental providers in the community to promote continuity of care; ensures patient has a dentist of record for services provided by the clinic and oversees retention of patient dental records as required by statute or by the rule of the Board of Dentistry.
Maintains an affiliation with appropriate professional groups, dental associations and dental organizations.
Oregon Dental License, unrestricted, (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment)
Dental degree (DDS/DMD) unrestricted, from a CODA accredited school
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Ability to leverage creativity, resourcefulness, and sound judgment in the analysis and resolution of dental and administrative problems; strong leadership, teamwork, and crisis management skills.
Comprehensive skill and ability to apply modern methods, principles and practices of four-handed and advanced general dentistry.
