Starting salaries ranging from $127,246 to $168,266. License to practice medicine in New York State;
Possession of a M.D., M.B.B.S. or D.O. degree; and
Either one year appropriate postgraduate training and one year subsequent work experience; or completion of a training program approved by the American certifying board of the specialty for entrance into their certifying examination or equivalent qualifications.

The New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) oversees one of the nation’s largest addiction services systems with nearly 1,600 prevention, treatment and recovery programs. OASAS chemical dependence treatment programs assist about 100,000 people a day and approximately 240,000 individuals every year. OASAS plans, develops and regulates the state’s system of chemical de...pendence and gambling treatment agencies. This includes the direct operation of 12 Addiction Treatment Centers, which provide inpatient rehabilitation services to 8,000 persons per year. Each Addiction Treatment Center has a multi-disciplinary team of staff that focus on medical care, psychiatric care as well as specialized and individualized treatment planning which addresses the various physical, psychological, emotional and social symptoms of addiction.
