The University of Maryland School ofNursing (UMSON) is currently recruiting for a full-time Assistant Professor forthe UMSON programs located at the Universities at Shady Gove (USG) inRockville, Maryland.
UMSON enrolls more than 1,800 studentsin its baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. It is ranked 6th amongall schools of nursing in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, and 11thin funding for nursing schools from the National Institutes of Health. UMSON ispart of the University of Maryland, graduate professional campus that alsoincludes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work.Its interdisciplinary graduate school has more than 40 programs in thebiosciences, law, and social work, and is one of the fastest growing biomedicalresearch centers in the nation. The unique composition of the campus enableshealth professionals to address clinical care, public policy, and social issuesthrough multidisciplinary research, scholarship, and community action. The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) offers more than 80undergraduate and graduate degree programs from nine Maryland publicuniversities on one convenient campus in Montgomery County. The UMSONundergraduate traditional BSN option is an upper-division, professional programproviding full and part time plans of study. The traditional BSN programrequires a minimum of four semesters of full-time study and all courses areoffered at the USG location.
We are seeking a full-time AssistantProfessor to participate in the clinical and didactic education ofundergraduate (BSN) upper division students. Key responsibilitiesinclude: developing, organizing, teaching, and evaluating adult health focused coursesand precepted clinical experiences; advising and mentoring students;participating in a program of scholarship; and contributing to facultygovernance.
Master's degree in nursing required; doctoral degree in nursing or a related field highly preferred
Current license to practice nursing in Maryland required
Recent clinical experience preferred
Prior academic experience preferred
