NapaSan is currently accepting applications for one full time position of Associate Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer. The ideal applicant would have professional registration and experience in the design of wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems. The position will involve a great degree of independence, significant responsibility and an opportunity for professional development managing many projects involving operation optimization, studies, and facility design.

Education and Experience:
Both position classes require graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or related engineering field, plus a valid Class C California driver’s license.
Associate Engineer: Three years of professional engineering design, plan review, and project administration experience, preferably in a public agency setting. This class differs from the class of Senior Civil Engineer in that the latter has additional programmatic responsibilities. General direction is provided by the Senior Civil Engineer.
Senior Civil Engineer: Eight years of professional engineering design, plan review and project administration experience, preferably in a public agency setting. This position provides technical direction and supervision to contract engineering and project staff. General direction is provided by the Technical Services Director.
License or Certificate:
Both classes require possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License. Both classes must possess registration as a professional Engineer as issued by the State of California.
Additional Salary Information: Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: Associate Engineer: $7,682.13 - $10,297.73; Senior Civil Engineer: $8,512.40 - $11,405.33 monthly.
Retirement: Contracted through California Public Employees Retirement System. Classic members formula - 2.0% at 55, one year final compensation. For new PERS members - 2% @ 62 formula (PEPRA) and three year
average on final compensation.
Insurance: District provides health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and EAP services. Deferred compensation 457 plan matching up to $250/month is provided. Wellness program gym reimbursement offered.
Vacation: 15 days per year with incremental increases to 23 days • Management Leave: 9 days per year • Sick Leave: 12 days per year • Holidays: 11 paid per year with additional 3.5 personal leave days.
Social Security: District employees do not pay Social Security taxes but do pay into Medicare.
