This Department Director I is responsible for:
Managing the operations of a clinical department overseeing administrative procedures, medical staff appointments, general fund, research and foundation budgets, billing, and compliance with hospital, state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures.
Working with the chief and clinical chiefs of the programs within the department in planning, implementing and directing programs within the department.
Directing and managing multiple primary and medicine-specialty ambulatory clinics with responsibility in assisting with physician governance and leadership, business development, strategic alignment, and operations.
Clearly communicating and advancing enterprise-wide initiatives to clinic managers, physicians, and staff. Acting as a change agent to develop, promote and implement needed clinical/operational changes quickly and effectively.
Mentoring practice managers and supervisors.
Ensuring that the administrative and clinical staff has appropriate information, providing training and support to achieve organizational goals.
To qualify you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business administration, accounting, or finance or a closely related.
Minimum of eight years' experience in managing primary care ambulatory clinics, preferably multiple sites, and familiarity with current population health management strategies to build patient delivery models that ensure the highest quality of care that effectively manage costs and risk.
Demonstrating excellence in customer service and satisfaction levels for internal and external customers.
Resolution in making decisions that are fact-based and the ability to demonstrate good judgment in making these decisions.
The ability to develop employees in a positive manner, maintaining and building self-esteem and confidence and competencies in addition to helping employees achieve their maximum potential and contribution.
Experience setting reasonable expectations and the ability to manage accountability.
The ability to provide vision and planning to reach goals.
