Rutgers School of Health Professions is seeking a Student Counselor for the Office of Enrollment Management/Educational Opportunity Fund Program. The Student Counselor supports the Office of Enrollment Management/Academic Success by providing academic, financial, and career advisement; along with personal counseling to students.
Assists in the development, coordination, and conducting of personal/career/and academic seminars and evaluates the delivery of seminars and services to students.
Responsible for monitoring the academic progress of students through the use of monthly progress reports. Meets with students and provides feedback regarding academic performance and documents each counseling session.
Assists in recruiting and in the supervision of tutors and coordinates group and individual tutoring sessions.
Assists in providing information to students on financial aid matters including state and federal grants, financial aid, scholarships and loan programs.
Assists in the coordination of all aspects of EOF Summer program planning and activities.
Home Location Campus: Newark (RBHS)
Five (5) years of administrative experience in a government agency, university setting, or large business office,is preferred.
Experience working with disadvantaged students, student recruitment, and financial aid are desirable.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a fast-paced; team oriented environment required.
