The AAS/SPA provides high-level project management, logistics planning and execution, best practices research, analytical and report development support to projects, initiatives and assignments managed by the Associate Chancellor. These duties may include taking the lead on assignments generated by UC Office of the President (UCOP), UC Regents and other directives and requests. This position requires the ability to develop an extensive understanding of the overall campus and its objectives, an appreciation of the academic mission, and the insight, tact, discretion and diplomacy to deal effectively and appropriately with highly sensitive information and with all individuals at all levels, both within the University system and in the public sector. Professional integrity is key to success in this position.
The Office of the Chancellor is the lead administrative office overseeing all areas of UC Santa Cruz, providing leadership in the execution of the mission, vision and strategic plans for the campus. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Technical knowledge and skills sufficient to develop, use and maintain complex databases.
Proven successful experience and ability to research, analyze, interpret and apply complex policies and procedures, including those based in federal and state law.
Knowledge of and ability to utilize accepted statistical methods for conducting high-level, complex statistical analyses.
Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and abilities; demonstrated ability to write executive correspondence, produce written analyses, reports and other documents.
Ability to work independently, display initiative and manage multiple priorities under pressure of competing deadlines.
