Rider University seeks an Associate Vice President and Controller with a strong record of accomplishment in financial management. The successful candidate will evidence effective interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills, and the ability to contribute at both the strategic and operational levels. The AVP will plan, direct and monitor the financial activities of the University including financial and tax reporting, budget, payroll and disbursements, and treasury management. S/he will act as liaison with the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees, and with the external auditors, brokers, granting agencies, et al. Additionally, the successful candidate will regularly interact with senior University leadership to analyze issues and address policy questions.

The position requirements include a Bachelor's degree, Certified Public Accountant, and a minimum of 7 years accounting experience with evidence of increasing levels of responsibility including supervision, preferably in higher education. A high level of computing skills is required with a strong preference for Banner systems experience. Effective interaction with cabinet members and governing board members preferred.
