This is a new position to coordinate the dental office and assist with administration of the dental services provided at Johnson City Community Health Center.
Responsible to the Dental Director for directing the day-to-day office operations in the dental clinic. Maintains responsibility for office operations by ensuring the work flow meets dentist, hygienist, support staff, and patient needs; updating, maintaining, and implementing policies and procedures for dental operations; acting as a liaison between the Governing Board and dental staff by working with both parties to develop policies and procedures specific to dental; monitoring incoming and outgoing mail; maintaining inventory; ordering supplies; scheduling patients for the dentist(s) and hygenist(s); greeting visitors; invoicing; maintaining the dental budget; and receiving and routing telephone calls.
Manage day to day operations of dental clinic; Manage compliance with OSHA, State, Federal and University regulations; Manage Patient financial accounts; Greet, check in/check out patients Answer phones and schedule patients Maintains responsibility for attending training and becoming the subject matter expert for the dental clinic relative to the Electronic Dental records system; Ensure HIPAA compliance in the use of the electronic dental records; Trains all new staff on electronic systems; assists in all upgrades, interfaces, and electronic workflow procedures as it relates to the Dental clinic; Trains staff to ensure that demographic, insurance eligibility, income guidelines, and appointment types and follow-up appointments are accurately entered; co-pays and past due balances are collected; charges are accurately entered for timely payment; end of day reports and balancing are completed; proper telephone etiquette is used; and, excellence in customer service is always achieved. Ensures that dental records requests are completed and scanned into the patients chart in a timely manner. Maintains responsibility for compiling, maintaining and updating reports for committees, finances, and grants.
