Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Patient Safety and Risk Manager
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for participating and assisting in patient safety committee meetings, risk management education programs and claims review activities. Assists in the defense of medical malpractice lawsuits and identifies issues that may have an impact on the quality of care at this institution
Performs other duties as assigned.
Completes priority investigations by deadline date.
Participates in Risk Management orientation program, as requested.
Reviews defense attorney correspondence as necessary.
Provides information on PSN occurrences, issues, and findings to Risk Manager.
Provides mapping for plans of corrections to responsible party to monitoring reports due to Patient safety Committee.
Responds to defense counsels or the claim examiners investigation requests for hospital records and/or policies, obtains/provides relevant medical evidence, and conducts relevant interviews.
Investigates potential high exposure alerts, including reviewing and summarizing medical records, interviewing involved parties and generating investigation reports.
Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Health Care Administration or related experience with a Master's Preferred. 5-7 Years of progressive experience in Risk Management or Quality Improvement in an Academic Hospital are required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
