Join Harborview Medical Center as ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant ("Healthcare Specialist") for Trauma/Surgical Critical Care.
Under general administrative supervision of the Director of Healthcare Specialists, and medical supervision of the trauma/surgical critical care service medical director, the HCS provides clinical expertise to patients and their families, is a resource person for health care providers, and participates in research and teaching programs. Work is performed primarily in the Trauma/Surgical ICU, 7 days a week with general independence and decision-making responsibility, under the guidance of the attending physicians, and in consultation with the critical care fellow, and department Nurse Manager. Guidelines include general policy procedures and practice guidelines established by the trauma surgical critical care service and Harborview Medical Center, as well as appropriate professional and technical manuals. Schedule is for full time days, with variable week-end coverage, typically 4 10 hour shifts. There are no on-call requirements for this position.

Licensure as either an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington or a Physician's Assistant (PA) in the State of Washington, or equivalent legal license/certification; must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the organized medical staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for Hospital-based positions. **************** Nurse Practitioner: Masters Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges AND National certification as an AG-ACNP (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner). and ACLS. **************** Physician Assistant: Licensure as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Washington with national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA). and ACLS.
