The ASUN Conference is accepting applications for an internship position as Institutional Services Assistant. The 12-month temporary position will begin no later than September 1. Total 12-month stipend is $22,000.
The successful candidate will report to the Associate Commissioner for Institutional Services and assist with all NCAA and ASUN compliance and governance activity. -Review, research, and respond to interpretive requests
-Process NCAA violations
-Develop educational materials for on-campus constituents
-Manage the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program
-Develop policies and best practices
-Support member institutions in processing NCAA waivers
-Other responsibilities as assigned
-Bachelor’s degree required; background in NCAA compliance preferred
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Must be goal- and task-oriented and possess excellent organization skills
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in NCAA athletics, compliance rules, and/or legal education
The successful applicant will work in the ASUN Institutional Services Office in Lynchburg, Virginia. Regular office hours of 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Occasional night and weekend hours required. Some travel possible. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The ASUN is an NCAA Division I conference with eight member institutions: Florida Gulf Coast University, Jacksonville University, Kennesaw State University, Lipscomb University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, University of North Florida, University of South Carolina Upstate and Stetson University; the University of North Alabama will join effective July 1, 2018.
