This is a new position in the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts. The Director of Leadership will lead and manage two existing online programs in the College: the B.S. in Organizational Leadership and the M.S. in Leadership. The preferred start date for this position is August 15, 2017.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Teaches four courses per year in one or both online programs.
Reviews and revises both programs as appropriate, including benchmarking competing programs and analyzing market needs.
Schedules classes for both programs in conjunction with the dedicated College Academic Advisor for leadership students, including scheduling all online courses needed for the undergraduate University Core for the B.S.
Supervises the dedicated College Academic Advisor for leadership students.
Assigns faculty (in coordination with departments and programs) and hires adjunct instructors as needed to staff all courses.
Evaluates the teaching of all faculty/instructors in the programs.
Vets all M.S. application files and makes admission recommendations.
Serves as liaison with the Enrollment Management Group (EMG) for both programs and works with EMG to set and achieve annual enrollment goals.
Works with the Dean and Associate Dean to develop and apply marketing strategies for the programs.
Regularly updates websites for both programs
Works to develop new online Leadership degrees if/when appropriate.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies or associated field from an accredited institution, have experience and publications in the field of Leadership Studies, and have demonstrated success and experience in teaching adult students in an online format. Alternately, the final candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: experience in working with a diverse team; demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to accomplish objectives in a large organization; readiness to learn and uphold the regulations and policies governing operations at Duquesne; strong time management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work with discretion regarding confidential materials; demonstrated ability to use independent judgment in making decisions; sensitivity to the need of each individual to be treated with dignity and respect as it relates to diversity in general and the Mission of the University specifically; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
