Two Positions: One full-time professor, Open Rank position AND one adjunct professor position with a primary focus in the Graduate Nursing Program (MSN)
Starting Date: Fall, 2017
About the Position: These positions are primarily in the graduate program, with some undergraduate teaching included for the full time position. The full time faculty member will serve as an adviser to students, serve on program, school, and university committees, and participate in community service and scholarship activities. The adjunct faculty position allows for continued full time practice while providing excellent education for your future colleagues. Qualified candidates have an opportunity to assume coordinator responsibilities for the AGACNP track.
Courses: Nursing programs in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences include the BSN Program, the RN-BSN (degree-completion) for RNs Program, and the MSN Program including a FNP track and a newly-created AGACNP track. Currently there is an enrollment of 200 students in the traditional (BSN, pre-licensure) program, and approximately 100 students in the post-licensure (RN-BSN, MSN) programs.
MSN degree with active certification related to advanced nursing practice (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care or Family focus strongly preferred); for adjunct position, will also consider an MD with active licensure required and practice experience in internal, emergency, critical care, and specialty medicine;
PhD or DNP, and teaching experience preferred; teaching experience and facility in online education desirable but not required;
A minimum of five years recent practice experience in at least one of the following specialties: medical-surgical nursing, critical care, community health, or psychiatric mental health;
A minimum of three years’ full time advanced practice experience (FNP or AGACNP); MDs - at least three years practice in specialty.
Experience working with diverse populations.
