Worldreader is looking to hire a vibrant fundraising professional to serve as the organization’s first Associate Development Director, Institutional Giving.
This leader will build and expand Worldreader’s institutional fundraising strategy, growing the portfolio to over $6M by the end of 2017. This role is externally-facing as they work in collaboration with the Director of Development to build the corporate and foundation portfolios, and explore strategic governmental partnerships. Long-term success means leadership of an institutional fundraising effort that keeps pace with a fast-growing operation and secures approximately half of Worldreader’s annual overall operating budget. The associate director will report to Worldreader’s Director of Development, supervise two development managers, and work closely with all members of the global development team.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter, who has solid knowledge of the global philanthropic landscape specific to education, edtech, and international development.
Successful experience managing $3M or more in annual institutional support; specifically a portfolio that includes government and intergovernmental organizations, foundations or other grant-giving non-governmental organizations (NGO).
Professional fundraising experience with evidence of increased responsibilities and fundraising goals.
Proven ability to bring together staff from different parts/levels of the organization in order to prepare and produce key deliverables.
Experience with Salesforce and/or comparable CRM systems.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
