In conjunction with the Associate Director of Student Services, the Assistant Director of Student Services will help develop and execute a world class student experience for the Executive MBA students on the Miami campus.
Please note: Role requires working weekends on a rotating schedule.
Act as an integral part of senior staff to develop and ensure execution of campus strategies.
Lead Student Services team in Miami which includes managing and developing two Program Assistants.
Directs, evaluates, coaches and develops team members.
Develops and implements action plans to ensure work is completed.
Oversee campus management on a rotating weekend schedule, with responsibilities including but not limited to providing timely responses to faculty and student issues, authorizing expenditures, ensuring proper emergency responses and procedures, overseeing relationship management with the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables and acting with independent decision-making authority for matters related to campus operations.
Student Prospecting and Recruiting, Admissions Support
Partner with Admissions on all integrated projects related to prospecting, outreach and the recruiting process.
Oversee the development and implementation of prospecting strategy, including research and analysis, and tracking systems.
Responsible for leading and attracting top-quality prospects to Kellogg EMBA Miami’s informational sessions, informational interviews and campus tours.
Manage the overall prospect experience. Develop strategies to drive applications of selected prospects and influence acceptance decisions.
Oversee coordination of Admission packets for local Admission Committee members.
Identify and implement short and long-term strategies to provide a seamless and efficient transition for students from the point of admission to matriculation.
Collaborate with Student Affairs and Marketing & Communications to create and design a steady communication stream with admitted students prior to their first day of classes, including the creation of a welcome packet.
Identify primary points of contact for admitted students to provide comprehensive support related to preparation and new student orientation.
Student Affairs, Event Planning
Create strategy for and partner in the execution of Student Affairs events.
Provide high-level recommendations and act as a program manager for event implementation. Manage program team to handle all logistics such as advertising, registration, speakers, international travel arrangements, venues, catering, technology, etc.
Work with relevant partners to strategize and implement initiatives to improve student involvement and engagement, including developing new student-driven speaker series, experiential learning field trips, etc.
Serve as primary liaison with student committees and class leadership for all events, both on and off-site. Assist with overseeing and managing class committees, and implementing onboarding of student government; attending group representative meetings and maintaining and updating group representative student feedback; tracking feedback responsiveness for both campuses.
Provides generalized support for all events on the Miami campus.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MBA or Master’s degree in relevant field or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Prior experience managing teams and operations.
Prior experience with event planning and execution.
5 years related experience.
Availability to work at least one weekend per month.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Ability to easily develop contacts and strong working relationships with students and staff.
