While all ranks will be considered, those applying for senior ranks (Associate Professor or Professor) require a record of sustained excellence in research and teaching. Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB or equivalently accredited school, demonstrated the ability or potential for producing high quality research, and a record of effective teaching. Professional certification and practical accounting experience are preferred. The Department is separately accredited by the AACSB and offers both undergraduate and Master's degrees. The undergraduate program was ranked 23rd and the graduate program 24th by US News & World Report. Faculty members have published in top accounting journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, and Review of Accounting Studies.
