The Chief Architect is responsible for providing overall leadership, establishing and maintaining technical roadmaps and representing all architecture disciplines for the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Information Systems Benefit Operations domain. They are responsible for leading business, portfolio and solutions architecture in this domain as well as engagement with other Chief Architects across UHC domains and Lines of Business. Core responsibilities will include: Create a consolidated 3 year strategic architecture roadmap for UHC Benefit Operations organization Evolve and socialize the UHC Benefit Operations 3 year strategic roadmapApprove and communicate all UHC Benefit Operations specific architecture standards Partner with and represent the business viewpoint/interests for all the enterprise architecture disciplines (infrastructure, application, security, data, business architecture) in standards/governance maturity discussions Participate in ongoing architecture governance activities Provide architecture thought leadership when selecting tools and setting standards Assist in maturing enterprise architecture management practices Provide a UHC perspective in setting technology standards for UHGOwn the UHC Benefit Operations technology architecture review process related to capital programs to ensure roadmap alignmentMoves from tactical solutions management to think broadly and strategically about the businessTakes a cross-functional perspective of the architecture and how it fits the businessEnsure compliance with architecture standardsParticipate in leadership discussions regarding new technology introduction and/or enterprise system planning activitiesEvaluate and approve all 3rd party engagements (including approval of renewal contracts) and approves those contractsProvide direct leadership to a team of 5 - 10 people accountable for business architecture, portfolio architecture and solution architecture
15 + years of progressive technology leadership experiencesExperience architecting scalable technology solutions that adjust to cyclical business patternsBroad technology experience, including complex systems integration and infrastructure expertiseDemonstrated success in leveraging technology to meet business objectivesHistory of engaging with CEO and COO customers and external clients Proven track record of effective working relationships with executives and key business partners to drive change agendasDemonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspectiveHistory of executing with excellence: setting purposeful goals and achieving them through intelligent actions, which balancing competing priorities without losing momentum behind executionExperience leading through influence in a large, matrixed, global environmentPrior people management responsibilities with senior level team members as direct reports High level of emotional intelligence Outstanding collaboration, strong influencing, problem solving and negotiation skillsInnovative orientation Experience working on Contact Center, Workforce Management and/or other Consumer facing architecture strongly preferred Healthcare industry experiences desired Prior experiences developing market and vendor partnerships of value Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
