The role of a club coach is to assist in the instructional and coaching elements of the club's activity in order to help the team work towards achieving its goals. As a student-run organization, all administrative aspects of the team are the responsibility of the student officers, not the coach.
This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling, space requests, travel plans, purchases and other financial transactions, fundraising efforts, and prospective player inquiries.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Direction and supervision of practices and competitions for the team.
Coaching of the team during trips.
Responsible for adherence to all University and governing association conference regulations
Must be committed to the student development and athletic development of all club sport student-athletes.
Must attend all games and practices.
Must promote good sportsmanship on and off the field
Serve as official representation of the University at all Club Sports functions.
American Red Cross CPR/AED & First Aid Certification for the Professional Rescuer
Collegiate rowing experience
2-5 years previous competitive coaching experience
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Expertise in technical aspects of the sport
Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, athletic staff, the University and community personnel and alumni.
Knowledge of NIRSA and/or governing conference regulations and rules related to the sport.
Previous experience driving a trailer transporting boats
