Job Title: Manager, Commodities TMU Grade: 6 Generic Job Role: CTMU Manager - CTMU UK Reports to (Direct): Senior Manager, CTMU UK Report to (Indirect): Regional Head, CTMU, Europe & Americas JOB PURPOSE
CTMU Manager within the UK CTMU team supporting CTMU roles and responsibilities in respect of Corporate & Institutional Banking Client portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of CTMU UK team covering Commodity Traders and Agribusiness clients.
Main responsibilities include daily administration and independent control of approved trade products client portfolio, including , collateral and position monitoring under transactional financing pextended to commodity clients.
The incumbent handles the flow of negotiable instruments, title documents or securities and coordinates with clients, relationship managers, credit officers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure sufficient collateral coverage prior to utilizing facilities.
Responsibility for overseeing the monitoring and reconciliation of a dedicated portfolio of clients, including daily position of the required collateral and daily updates of mark-to-market valuations of commodity prices. Tracking the value of underlying collateral and handling flow transactional documents, making margin calls to clients.
Scope of covered credit facilities includes transactional trade products, borrowing base, LCs, SBLCs. Cross coverage/back up of Structured Inventory Products desk will additionally be conducted as required.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
* Manage a significant portfolio of facilities protecting the Bank's exposure to risk through the constant * monitoring of credit facilities and valuation of collateral. * Credit monitoring - responsible for monitoring credit related issues and flagging to SCO. Identifying credit risks in a timely manner by reacting to facility excesses and collateral shortfalls. * Jointly responsible for a good relationship with the Bank's customers and intermediaries / counterparties, internal and external stakeholders, maintaining and building client relationships and ensuring good utilization of the facility. * Approval of and ongoing monitoring of transactions to ensure they remain within agreed credit parameters as approved and in line with applicable bank's governance. * Regular liaison with all internal and external stakeholders regarding trade booking, monitoring, logistics / financial / trading contacts of our clients and intermediaries / counterparties such as warehouses / surveyors / forwarders / insurance companies etc. * Providing timely and proper release instructions to warehouses / forwarders and information updates to relevant stakeholders.
Additionally the following responsibilities are also undertaken:
* Reporting responsibilities; * Back up duties for other CTMU Managers; * Executing COCOA and Line Manager delegated authority to approve new trades; * Approve KCIs, KCSAs and relevant CST results in Optial or other system under approved delegation of Line Manager / Regional Head. * Conduct 1st line review of credit applications (BCAs) presented for review in alignment with existing governance and client's business model; * Conduct 1st line review of new or renewed group and local process and product governance; * Review, testing and sign-off of COCOA system enhancements. * Identify and raise Operational Risk issues, contribute to completion as per agreed target date; * Identify and prepare escalations Process Governance Committee, completion of deliverables according to approved target dates; * Undertaking assignment of special Projects as nominated and delegated by Line Manager or Regional Head; * All daily, weekly and monthly COCOA reporting in line with the applicable governance as delegated by Line Manager; * Approve KCIs, KCSAs and relevant CST results in Optial or other system under delegation. * Conduct cross- training to other CTMU Managers for all relevant products; * Conduct training sessions for new or revised product and process governance in conjunction with the Line Manager; * Coverage of Structured Inventory products desk on request/demand.
