As such, knowledge of accounting and finance is critical but just as important, is the ability and desire to develop in depth understanding of claim financial processing, system and financial controls, along with the resulting accounting and reporting of transactional data processed through our application. The candidate will be expected to access and analyze financial claim data, support the financial close, support and direct audits of our processes, and, develop subject matter expertise to be able to participate in, and help drive various development efforts impacting our applications. The candidate will also be expected to provide support to numerous internal customers such as Finance, Corporate Regulatory and Audit, ASO Banking, ASO Customer Reporting, etc., on issues involving claim financial data processed through Claim Accounting. Primary Responsibilities:Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports Perform account reconciliations and analyses, prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position Involvement in the monthly/quarterly 'close' process Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits Review the work of others Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with concentration in Accounting 5+ years of Accounting experience Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel Demonstrated ability to anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet themPreferred Qualifications: Public accounting experience Healthcare experience Accounting experience handling regulated entities Microsoft Access Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
