Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Campus Security Officer - Dispatch Focus. Duties will focus specifically in the Dispatch Center. Employees will receive, screen, and prioritize emergency and non-emergency telephone calls, and route calls to appropriate departments and services. Maintain computer-generated and/or handwritten logs as applicable. Monitor campus fire alarms system, campus panic alarms, medical gas, and closed circuit television systems. Operate communications equipment, monitor alarms and other security systems, and complete reports using a computer.
The focus of the Campus Security Officer position is to help ensure a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors that promote the healing and teaching mission of Harborview Medical Center. The Security Services team has a key role in maintaining a healing environment in a manner that is consistent with UW Medicine Patients Are First Service Culture Guidelines. Security Officers provide assistance and problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors.

High School graduation or equivalent; no previous felony convictions;medical center security or emergency response call center (dispatch) experience. Must be able to type 35wpm and possess good oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task while answering calls. Must be able to speak English clearly and distinctly at all times despite extreme stress.
