The Director of Development – College of Medicine is responsible for the design, leadership, and implementation of development programs in support of the major gift fundraising goals of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center's College of Medicine and the Texas A&M Foundation. This position may be a supervisory position and typically reports to a senior director or an assistant vice president for development.
The Texas A&M University Health Science Center is the most comprehensive health science center in the state of Texas, providing education, service, and innovative research. Required Education and Experience:
1. A Bachelor's degree required. 2. A minimum of three years of development and fundraising for healthcare-related organizations required. Examples of healthcare-related organizations include hospitals, medical research institutions, university academic healthcare programs, non-governmental or governmental healthcare organizations (such as the CDC), etc. 3. Development and fundraising experience with a university college of medicine is a plus. 4. Familiarity with a commercial, large scale fundraising database application a plus. 5. Experience working with governmental or non-governmental grants a plus. 6. Proficiency in MS Office applications required. 7. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required. 8. Ability to relate well to the academic community required. 9. A valid Texas Driver's License required if hired.
