The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational support and counsel on a variety of healthcare law issues.
Provide legal advice and counsel on (i) advertising and promotion strategies and activities, including the review of promotional materials; (ii) managed markets strategies and programs, including contracting; (iii) government pricing and contracting; (iv) product development and labeling; and (iv) risks associated with healthcare fraud and abuse.
Identify and counsel on issues surrounding the proper generation and dissemination of scientific data, data exclusivity, regulatory strategies, and product development and review of relevant materials.
Assist in the drafting, review, and negotiation of wholesaler agreements, GPO agreements, and related documentation.
Provide legal advice on the application and interpretation of the FDCA and other federal and state health care laws and regulations relevant to the development, approval, distribution, and sale of prescription drugs and consumer products.
Represents the Company on various industry trade association working groups and initiatives focused on regulatory issues.
Responsible for policy development, implementation, and training.
Education and Experience Requirements
1. JD from an ABA accredited law school; be admitted to, and in good standing with, the Connecticut State Bar or eligible to become Connecticut Authorized House Counsel.
2. 4-6+ years combined experience in a law firm, in-house at a pharmaceutical company, or government agency.
3. Experience advising on the Anti-Kickback Statute, FCPA, the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, the PhRMA Code, and privacy laws.
4. Experience advising on legal issues related to government pricing, government contracting, and managed markets.
