The Pritzker Military Museum & Library is hiring a paid Hunter Collection Cataloging Intern for Fall 2017. The position is part-time (20-25 hours per week) for 13 weeks and is scheduled to begin between August 21, 2017 and September 11, 2017 depending upon scheduling.
Under the guidance of a mentor, the Hunter Collection Interns will be organizing, cataloging, and possibly scanning posters, photographs, artifacts, and other special collection materials from the World War I Hunter Collection.This work will be done at the Museum & Library’s remote facility off the Brown Line in the North Center Neighborhood. This position requires some experience or familiarly with MARC 21, RDA, and cataloging into the OCLC database. Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.

Create catalog records both in OCLC and in local ILS
Use large and medium format scanner to digitize Special Collection materials
Add digitized image and metadata to CONTENTdm

Master’s degree level course work in Library Science
Experience or familiarity with Cataloging in the OCLC database
