CookCounty Health and Hospitals System (CCHHS) is seeking an Attending Physician 6for Cermak Health Services of Cook County (Cermak) providing healthcare todetainees at the Cook County Department of Corrections. The Attending Physician6 will be responsible for providing primary care to inmates and documentingclinical care in accordance with all professional standards. Communicates withmembers of the multidisciplinary team including nurses, medical technicians,mental health staff, and others to coordinate care. Complies with the samesecurity regulations as other employees at the facility.
Reportsto the Chair of the Department of Correctional Health
M.D. or D.O.degree from an accredited medical college or university is required.
Licensed as aphysician or surgeon in the State of Illinois or eligible to be licensed priorto starting employment. Completed accredited residency program in InternalMedicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine or eligible to complete suchresidency prior to start of employment.
BoardCertified or eligible for certification in either of the following medicalspecialties: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine or is aresident physician
Valid IllinoisControlled Substances License (ILCS) or the ability to obtain licensure priorto starting employment.
Valid licensurewith the Federal DEA or eligible to obtain licensure prior to startingemployment.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS),preferred.
Bilingual skills in Spanish or Polish.
Record of scholarly achievement.
Original credentialing documents must be presentedat time of interview.
Mustsuccessfully meet the credentialing standards established by the Cook CountyHealth and Hospitals System to include a State of Illinois MD license and anyother license, certification, or specialized training, etc. no later than two(2) weeks prior to the candidate's start date
