Under the direct guidance of the Senior Director of Pharmacy, the Assistant Director Quality/Compliance leads the System Pharmacy's quality improvement program, regulatory compliance and staff development. The person in this position also serves as the Medication Safety Officer for the System pharmacies and as such is responsible for coordination the adverse drug reaction reporting program and collaborating with the hospital's Patient Safety Officer.The person in this role will also develop priorities for process improvement projects related to the medication error reporting program.
This position requires collaboration with health care providers with medication-related responsibilities at each of the System facilities, in order to measure and improve the safety of the System's medication systems.
·Must be licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Illinois.
·Minimum five (5) years of full-time work experience as a pharmacist within a hospital or retail pharmacy environment is required.
·Must have at least five (5) years of full-time work experience as a manager or supervisor is required.
·Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations relating to relevant pharmacy practices
·Knowledge of CMS requirements is required.
·Extensive knowledge of Joint Commission Medication Management Standards is required.
·Experience with self-audits and regulatory inspections is required.
·Experience with writing and approving standard operating principles is required.
·Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is required.
·Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
Experience in dealing with labor unions as a staff pharmacist or supervisor.
Experience with developing new programs and staff training.
Experience with Joint Commission survey.
Experience with 340B Program.
Certification in Patient Safety or Health Care Quality
