Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Accounts Payable Audit/Compliance Associate.
In this role, the successful candidate should focus on preventing internal and external fraud and suggesting ways to improve internal controls. The departmental auditor must update and maintain policies and procedures of all Accounts Payable documents and forms for all teams and activities. These documents should be updated constantly to keep them current with Accounts Payable practices. The Departmental Auditor must make sure any changes in procedure are documented and revised on the Finance website.
Assist the AP Manager(s) in monitoring, updating and enforcing AP policies and procedures
Promote staff development through demonstrating motivation, support to other personnel and providing an atmosphere of integrity and trust
Performs other duties as requested by Management
Will be responsible to ensure all audit findings from the above are incorporated into the daily process of the team and that all Policies are updated with changes.
Will be the internal contact for all NYULMC audits with both internal and external auditors.
Help maintain Finance web sites with Policies, Procedures and Forms.
The Departmental Auditor must be prepared to ask questions regarding controls and must know what controls should be in place to avoid external and internal frauds.
The Departmental Auditor must continually stay informed on the changing Accounts Payable landscape. They must know what innovations are likely to be adapted next in the industry.
Departmental Auditor must be able to articulate the findings of the audit and make suggestions to improve object of audit
The audit must be designed to show any weaknesses that may have been discovered, as a part of the audit suggestions should be given to change any policies or procedures to strengthen the weak areas
Audits should include, but are not limited to, the following areas: Procurement Cards, Travel and Expenses, Accuracy of Voucher Processing, Payments That Did Not Pay On-Time, Duplicate Payments, Deleted Vouchers and Vouchers Overridden
Continually run audits of all Accounts Payable policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Education/Experience: Bachelors degree plus a minimum of four (4) years of related experience. Good communication skills and must display an aptitude for mathematical proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications: The auditor should exhibit sound knowledge of Accounts Payable. In addition he/she should display a general understanding of accounting and finance. The auditor must have strong written and verbal skills.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
