The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently recruiting for a half-time Clinical Instructor/ Assistant Professor for the UMSON programs located at the Universities at Shady Gove (USG) in Rockville, Maryland.
UMSON enrolls more than 1,800 students in its baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. It is ranked 6th among all schools of nursing in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, and 11th in funding for nursing schools from the National Institutes of Health. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland, graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. Its interdisciplinary graduate school has more than 40 programs in the biosciences, law, and social work, and is one of the fastest growing biomedical research centers in the nation. The unique composition of the campus enables health professionals to address clinical care, public policy, and social issues through multidisciplinary research, scholarship, and community action. The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs from nine Maryland public universities on one convenient campus in Montgomery County. The UMSON undergraduate traditional BSN option is an upper-division, professional program providing full and part time plans of study. The traditional BSN program requires a minimum of four semesters of full-time study and all courses are offered at the USG location.
We are seeking a part-time Clinical Instructor/Assistant Professor to participate in the clinical and didactic education of undergraduate (BSN) upper division students. Key responsibilities include: developing, organizing, teaching, and evaluating adult health focused courses and precepted clinical experiences; advising and mentoring students; participating in a program of scholarship; and contributing to faculty governance.
Master's degree in nursing required; doctoral degree in nursing or a related field highly preferred
Current license to practice nursing in Maryland required
