We are seeking an Environmental Specialist at the McIntosh, AL chemical manufacturing facility. This position involves direct support of all aspects of the solid waste and water pollution control programs for the site.
Environmental Specialist – McIntosh, AL (1702996)
Your key priorities will include managing regulatory compliance of the solid waste and water pollution control programs. Specific duties involve solid and hazardous waste profiling/manifesting, hazardous waste inspections, RCRA training, NPDES reporting and permitting, stormwater management and SPCC management. This position will also provide support to the air pollution control program.
Formula for Success: You Will...
Maintain and monitor compliance programs while optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the programs.
Provide governance and oversight of the environmental program.
Participate in technical reviews of process changes as necessary.
Lead and/or participate in investigation and root cause analysis for accident/ incidents as needed.
Participate in capital project reviews consistent with the level of environmental expertise needed.
Provide input to EHS Team Leader and interface with regulatory agencies, as needed, on compliance issues.
Actively participate within the EHS Community.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...
BS Degree in Engineering or Science is required.
Environmental solid waste and water disciplines regulatory knowledge is required.
Three or more years' experience in implementing environmental programs in a manufacturing arena required.
Experience with air pollution control regulations is a plus.
Basic computer skills (ex. Spreadsheets, word processing, database management) essential.
Customer Focus, Collaborate for Achievement, Entrepreneurial Drive, Drive Sustainable Solutions and Effective Communication skills are essential.
