UC Berkeley Extension is one of the largest and oldest continuing education operations thriving in the United States, with 2,000 professional development and personal enrichment classes and approximately 38,000 enrollments annually. The UC Berkeley Extension International Programs department runs a large and diverse portfolio of programs and services for short-term visiting international students. These include Berkeley Global Access, Berkeley-Haas Global Access, College Foundations Programs, International Diploma Programs, Evening Certificate Programs, custom programs and emerging new international initiatives. The department serves over 1,500 international students annually and is planning for significant future growth and diversification
The position involves activities associated with reaching, serving, and engaging external constituencies through programs, events, products, and services not primarily related to fundraising. Constituencies include alumni, local and overseas communities, government, parents, prospective students as well as the general public. Translates constituent needs and priorities into customized programs to create, enhance, and sustain relationships between the campus and its external constituencies.
? Travel internationally to meet with partners, attend and present at conferences, visit government agencies and non-governmental organizations. Host inbound delegations of existing and prospective international partners
? Design, develop and implement short and long-range plans designed to highlight campus opportunities and showcase the institution to broad based or highly influential publics/constituencies.
? Identify international partnership opportunities with universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and support organizations, and lead\ on the development of new and existing relationships.
? Draft, develop, oversee and assess outcomes of contracts and Memoranda of Understanding with existing and new international partners, in collaboration with Risk Management and office of Business Contracts and Brand Protection.
? Identify communication needs and develop informational materials and/or programs/events to inform appropriate publics of campus policy, programs, services and activities. Ensures consistent, thorough, and responsive communications. Collaborate across Extension and UC Berkeley to ensure the effective implementation of international engagement strategies.
? Plan, execute, and evaluate the overall effectiveness of broad based information and communications programs designed to further campus goals, making revisions and changes as necessary, to ensure on-going improvements and enhancements improve the effectiveness and success of external relations activities.
? Document and describe the student life cycle into UC Berkeley Extension international programs, and develop and implement short and long-term improvements in collaboration with International Student Administrative Services and campus units.
? Support Directors with delivery of existing academic programs, and collaborate on launch of new programs. Analyze market intelligence and assess opportunities for new program development.

Expert knowledge of international student recruitment and support, and international partnership development. ? Expert level written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including attentive listening skills and skill to ascertain constituency perception. ? Expert skill to quickly identify and develop strategies to effectively communicate the institution's message. ? Expert level analytical and decision-making skills, sound judgment and highly developed political acumen. ? Expert skill to recognize potential areas of constituency concern and skill to effectively address, resolve and/or mitigate problems or issues. ? Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities ? Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to all constituencies, e.g. students, instructors, staff, partners and clients. ? Skill in identifying opportunities for new program development, and improvements to existing offerings. ? Ability to travel frequently, domestically and internationally ?
