Responsible for translating business needs into architectural solutions (current and target state) and defining solutions to business problems through application of information technology. Lead the overall architecture of enterprise systems. Determine integrated architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs, lead establishment/implementation of standards/guidelines that drive the design of technology solutions including architecting/implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems/applications across the enterprise. Track industry trends/maintains knowledge of new tech.

As an architect, you will require a holistic view of enterprise solutions, including a sound appreciation of quality, industry standards, operational costs, security, performance engineering, availability, scalability, application development (COTS based or custom) and systems management.
The day-to-day responsibility includes but not limited to around four core pillars:
Define best practices in the critical evaluation and selection and/or development of the software components including evaluation and selection of development methods, development processes, best practices and tools.
Assume overall technical responsibility for the success of solution and will deliver new and complex high quality solutions on projects/proposals. You will utilize in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business skills to influence FedEx Ground business.
Formulate strategic plans for component development to sustain future project objectives. Align with Business and Enterprise Architecture teams to device solutions for Transform, Run and Change initiatives.
Frequently deal with newer technologies, methods, and solution paradigms. You will research, develop and deliver technical white papers and executive presentations.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Considered a Plus
Experience in SCRUM/Agile Methodologies.
Experience with implementing architecture principles and design patterns
Working knowledge of established application design frameworks and UML
Thorough understanding of TOGAF
Experience in building real-time interfaces between large heterogeneous systems

Bachelor's degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
