Cbus' highly successful Investment Team is growing rapidly, with funds under management, the percentage of funds managed internally, and the size of the Investments team set to almost double over 5 years. Reporting to the Group Executive, Investment Services and Solutions, the Head of Investment Legal operates within the Investment team with responsibility for the provision of expert and strategic legal and legal governance advice to senior management on investment activities to assist in optimising investment outcomes, ensure legal compliance and legal risk mitigation.
As a senior member of the Investment Team this role manages the investment legal function, develops and implements legal processes and procedures relating to the engagement of the Investment team internally and externally, provides effective legal advice on investment strategies and their implementation, obtains and oversees the work of external legal counsel, and works to meet regulatory and statutory obligations across the investment portfolio.
To be successful in this role you will require a legal qualification, be admitted to practice in an Australian jurisdiction, including contract law and RG146 or equivalent accreditation. You will have significant knowledge and experience in the provision of legal services at senior levels in a law firm, corporation or government agency, specifically in the field of superannuation, investment management, administration, compliance and regulatory issues across financial services and products.
