Mary Baldwin University is currently seeking a qualified head coach for the women’s basketball program. The athletic department is an NCAA Division III and USA South Athletic Conference member located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The department is anticipating unprecedented growth and seeking an applicant who is excited to build a program centered on the academic development of student athletes, the fostering of a strong team culture, and a competitive role in the USA South Athletic Conference. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and join a collaborative athletic department, will have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and will be someone who is able to interpret and comply with all NCAA rules and regulations. Specific duties related to the basketball program include, but are not limited to, recruiting, team training, scheduling, budgeting, fund-raising, implementing community service projects, and monitoring governing-body rules compliance.
To be considered for the position, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and experience coaching, preferably at the college level. Competency in computer skills is required as well as a willingness to learn Front Rush.
