The Senior Analyst for the Academic Advancement & Training (AA&T) unit within Academic Personnel Services manages and conducts the independent review and analysis of academic personnel actions, including academic and administrative appointments, merits, promotions and appraisals. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert and front line resource to the AA&T Director, dean's office representatives, department representatives, and faculty on academic personnel policies and actions relating to advancement, tenure, retention, leaves of absence, etc. Reviews confidential documents related to academic advancement, tenure, retention, and provide analysis and recommendations. Composes a wide variety of correspondence for signature by the AVC-AP, EVC and/or other executive leaders. Works with clients to better understand and administrate the policies and procedures which govern academic personnel and ensures the University's obligations under those policies. In addition, the incumbent will participate in the development, analysis, and implementation of new policies.
The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in collaborating with team members to determine best practices and approaches to improve customer relations and achieve work objectives. Actively participates in short- and long-term planning in policy, program, and procedure development, as well as workflow assessment. Recommend improvements to business processes in order to establish best practices that will increase efficiency, productivity and accuracy and to ensure the highest level of service to clients. Proactively participates in the training and support of team members. Individually, and as part of a team, develop, implement and present a variety of academic personnel trainings to faculty and staff clients

Proven experience and expertise projecting, anticipating and assessing training needs and designing, implementing, maintaining and enhancing innovative programs to meet identified needs, including developing metrics to measure outcomes.
Requires thorough knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR. Demonstrated knowledge, skill and ability in interpreting and applying the terms of complex policies and contracts including academic personnel policies, statutes and labor contracts.
Graduation from college with a major in business administration, economics, statistics, educational administration, political science, or an allied field, and 3-5 years of administrative analysis or operations research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to analyze complex management issues, develop project scope and solutions, give professional advice to senior officials, and make critical decisions regarding personnel. Proven leadership skills with the ability to act independently and exercise sound judgment, with the acumen and sensitivity to identify those decisions and activities which require confidentiality and/or higher level consultation and/or group collaboration.
Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address moderately complex issues and present nuanced analyses. (A) Ability to think strategically, engage in proactive problem solving both individually and as part of a group, and to take ownership of issues until problems are successfully and completely resolved. (B) Demonstrated critical thinking and applied problem-solving skills to objectively research and analyze complex issues related to academic personnel.
