Primary Purpose: Under the supervision of the Media X Director, the Media X Facilities & Productions Operations Manager will oversee and maintain labs, facilities and equipment for the Media X program. In addition, s/he will implement and manage the equipment check-out system, oversee production studios, computer labs and reservation schedules.
Essential Functions: 1. Oversee operations in the production studios, computer labs, post-production bays and Media X labs. 2. Teach faculty, staff and students how to operate equipment and produce projects in the above facilities. 3. Oversee project management and project budgets on internal and external multimedia productions. 4. Design and implement safety and operational training in Media X facilities. 5. Maintain and update software and computers in Media X labs. 6. Maintain and facilitate repair of equipment. 7. Establish and maintain reservation schedule for Media X facilities. 8. Oversee and facilitate equipment inventory and check-out system for the Media X program. 9. Collaborate with Information Technology Department for implementing workflows and procedures related to networking, asset management and digital archiving. 10. Establish and document workflows within Media X labs. 11. Provides supervision to student workers. 12. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree in film, digital media, educational technology, computer science or related field.
Four (4) years of employment experience in digital media, educational technology or related field.
Proficiency in Apple and Windows-based computer systems.
Proficiency in video editing software and transcoding tools.
Conversant with video cameras, lighting equipment and other film/ video gear, and a variety of multimedia production equipment.
Knowledge of technology trends and ability to investigate, recommend, and implement hardware and software.
Ability to act independently and creatively with a high degree of initiative.
Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
Demonstrated success with digital project management.
Proven effectiveness in developing and delivering training materials.
Experience managing and maintaining a television/video facility, rental house or post production studio.
Experience with information technology.
Experience in higher education.
Experience supervising student workers.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Work performed during standard business hours, additional work hours may be required to meet project deadlines and business needs.
Hiring Range: Min $18.81 per hour to Mid $25.30 per hour, non-exempt
