Reporting to the Director of Admission, the Director of Financial Aid/Associate Director of Admission assists the Director with enrollment management efforts by communicating the School’s mission and vision to prospective families, feeder school audiences and educational consultants, and through working with current parents and alumni in additional outreach endeavors. This position works collaboratively with the Director of Admission to develop a recruitment, marketing, and communication plan to reach target audiences. This position is primarily focused on the recruitment of Upper School boarding and day students, overseeing all financial aid operations and initiatives in all three school divisions, and a need-based financial aid budget of approximately $5.6 Million for the 2017-2018 school year.
Furthermore, the Director of Financial Aid/Associate Director of Admission will assist in the management of, and response to, inquiries; complete student and parent interviews; track student application materials; represent Stevenson School locally and regionally in activities that help promote the School; read and evaluate Upper School admission applications; serve as a member of the Admission Board; coordinate financial aid correspondence; read and evaluate financial aid applications to complete a needs analysis; chair the financial aid committee; track financial aid applications and award distributions; and, assist in the management of all industry publication/web listings and related memberships.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and progressive leadership and management experience in the areas of student services, including financial aid administration and/or admissions at an educational institution. Additionally, successful candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of private, independent education; possess in-depth knowledge of federal income tax schedules; develop financial aid policies; maintain knowledge of strategic marketing practices; demonstrate outstanding networking skills for developing and maintaining successful relationships with prospective families, feeder schools, educational consultants, and the Stevenson School community; proficiency using software applications including Microsoft applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
