Under the direction of the Dean, Silberman College of Business, the Senior Assistant to the Dean for Budget and Finance is responsible for providing a variety of advanced and diversified budget and financial services for Silberman College of Business, including professional support for the administrative and operational efficiency and effectiveness of the College. Primary responsibilities include: overseeing and managing various Silberman College operating and compensation budgets; analyzing budget and financial data for the Dean; preparing financial studies and reports; budget maintenance and monitoring; training staff on budget and finance related procedures; assisting SCB budget administrators with understanding financial reports, reconciling budget and expenditures, and controlling costs; handling confidential personnel matters; and serving as liaison for communication between the Dean and Silberman College faculty and staff, University Provost's Office, Accounting, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Human Resources/Payroll. Maintains and monitors all budget administration, including payroll, purchasing, faculty workloads, and expense vouchers. Coordinates and manages special projects; trains faculty and staff on databases and supervises Administrative employees.
1.Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business; MBA preferred.
2.A minimum of five years of experience in the maintenance of financial data and the development of financial records systems, preferably in higher education, government or non-profit enterprise.
3.Prior experience that demonstrates a basic understanding of accounting principles and analytical techniques.
4.Strong analytical skills with the ability to work accurately with financial data and resolve problems.
5.Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
6.Personal computer proficiency for data management, spreadsheets, word processing and other software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Ability to quickly learn other programs as required.
7.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
