Under thedirect supervision of the Divisional Chief of Correctional Psychiatry, theConsultant Physician of Correctional psychiatry is responsible for supportingmental health care to patient on the Mental Health System (MHS) caseload atassigned clinical areas on evenings and weekends.
Reportsto the Division Chief of Correctional Psychiatry
Must possess a Medical Doctor (M.D.),Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical college oruniversity is required.
Must possess a valid License as aphysician in the State of Illinois is required.
Must be Board Certified or BoardEligible in the practice of Psychiatry is required.
Must possess a valid Illinois ControlledSubstances license is required.
Must possess a valid licensure with theFederal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is required.
Experience working with underserved, transient populationsand clinical co-morbidities) co-occuring mental health, substance abuse, and physicalhealth problems
Experience in correctional setting
Must successfully meet the credentialing standardsestablished by the Cook County Health and Hospitals System to include a Stateof Illinois MD license and any other license, certification, or specializedtraining, etc. no later than two (2) weeks prior to the candidate's start date.
