VMI’s Center for Leadership and Ethics seeks a full-time employee to assist in the planning and execution of academic year conferences as well as programs for cadets. Responsibilities include communicating with conference presenters and speakers; detailed record keeping; assisting with scheduling sessions, speakers and panel discussions; assisting with exhibitor and sponsor outreach; meal and transportation planning; and providing general administrative and conference support. The planner will also assist in scheduling and support for the Center’s cadet programming. Should be a self-starter with knowledge of business communications etiquette, is flexible, and has a positive, can-do attitude.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. Highly organized and detail oriented, yet flexible, positive and problem solving in the face of change. Research skills. Can juggle multiple priorities. The ability to work as a part of a team in a fast-paced, professional office environment. Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook required.
