GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Director of Student Involvement and Leadership Development supervises all aspects of operations within the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership Development and serves as the immediate supervisor of the Assistant Director and full-time and part-time administrative support personnel. Responsible for supporting students and the community in the development of programs, services and events enriching campus life, through skill development, campus collaborations, and advisement.
EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and manages club development and support, including: registration, new club processes, training (annual and on-going) and eligibility checks.
Coordinates the preparation and administration of the Class and Club Fundraising accounts; oversees and manages the Student Activities Trust Fund in conjunction with the Student Government Association.
Promotes programming at Framingham State University designed to enrich students' educational and social experiences.
Promotes ethical conduct and commitment to inclusive programming and diversity among student leaders.
Encourages programming for students traditionally under-represented in campus events, including commuter students, and adults returning to college.
Monitors distribution of information in print, social media, and via the University website to ensure awareness of programming among students.
Assesses effectiveness of programming and maintains data on student participation.
Works with other offices within the Student Affairs Department to coordinate programming and student leadership development.
Oversees the registration of over sixty clubs and organizations, and promotes the development of new clubs on campus.
Works with officers and advisors of student organizations to promote student involvement in governance, interest groups, and media organizations.
Provides appropriate training to staff and students regarding the policies and procedures for registering clubs.
Assists with the delivery of Black and Gold Beginnings.
Coordinates the Wet Feet Retreat in conjunction with First Year Programs.
Oversees FCC regulations and WDJM radio station compliance, filing regular reports as required.
Enforces the University's rules and regulations pertaining to the conduct of student groups and ensures compliance with the Constitution of the Student Government Association.
Monitors compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws pertaining to student conduct and programming, including those against the practice of hazing.
Accountable for ensuring that affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in areas of responsibility.
Serves as designated Title IX responsible employee.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Master's Degree in Higher Education or related field.
Five or more years of experience coordinating campus life programs and/or student services.
The demonstrated ability to independently maintain programs and multitask on several projects at one time with frequent interruptions.
Ability to work flexible hours including night and weekend hours.
Supervision of professional staff.
Proficiency in Banner, Campus Labs - Engage platform, website content management software, and general Microsoft Office suite applications.
