Essential Job Duties:
The Associate Director for Resource Analysis provides staff leadership and support to the Senior Vice Provost in all areas of resource analysis and planning. The Associate Director conducts institutional research in areas including, but not limited to: admissions and recruitment, student success, salary equity analysis and budget allocation modeling. Primary clients include the Provost and his Cabinet.
Other responsibilities include serving on the Enrollment Planning Committee and Budget Restructuring Task Force, negotiating budgeted enrollment targets with the deans, assisting in producing the university’s budgeted enrollment projections, developing new projection models, creating new measures of instructional capacity and cost, and conducting policy analyses related to students’ academic progress.
Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience.
Programming and data management training.
Experience in an analytic and data support role.
Experience in a higher education environment (or closely-related environment such as non-profit) and hands-on programming experience.
Experience demonstrating strong analytic skills in an office of institutional research or functionally similar setting. Ability to collect, manage, analyze, interpret, and communication a broad range of institutional data.
Experience with extracting information using computer programming languages and online analytical processing systems.
Expertise in the use of the statistical software package SAS for analyzing large datasets.
Ability to interpret and produce effective written documentation for data systems.
Experience with retrieving and analyzing information from websites of government and other agencies.
Ability to effectively supervise the work of others.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to relate well to individuals at all levels of the organization.
Advanced knowledge of higher education organizations and research methodologies, particularly institutional research.
