Compensation Analyst (1703290) – Florham Park, NJ
As a Compensation Analyst, you will make an immediate impact on the BASF North America (NA) Corporate Compensation team's ability to provide valuable HR services. You will play a key role in providing day-to-day support to the HR community, management, and various businesses and functions within the region on various Compensation matters including base pay, annual bonus/incentive, and job grading. This position reports to the Director, NA Compensation & Executive HR.
Formula for Success: You Will...
Manage data submissions to various local and national salary surveys for both exempt and non-exempt employees. Hold responsibility for spot surveys administered by various vendors throughout the year and other tasks as assigned in the survey process.
Analyze survey results to identify trends and recommend compensation adjustments that support BASF NA's competitive position.
Support data collection and analytics related to the annual merit increase and bonus/incentive cycle, as well as analyze and make recommendations for salary range movement.
Assist the HR community and/or line managers with appropriate salary recommendations for new hire, promotion, or equity adjustments. Conduct salary and total compensation analyses for large groups, sites, or senior HR/company management.
Review job descriptions presented for evaluation, as assigned. Analyze and recommend job grades for current and/or new positions using an internal job evaluation methodology.
Serve as the lead contact for ad hoc data, reporting, and analytics requests.
Contribute to the development of new tools, approaches, and improved processes pertaining to compensation, job evaluation and related topics.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field OR relevant work experience.
At least 2 years of experience in Compensation analysis within a Human Resources function.
Intermediate/advanced skills in Excel (e.g., v-lookup, pivot tables, charts, graphing and reporting), and a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with SAP is preferred.
Experience in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting HR data.
Demonstrable ability to think critically about and problem solve with HRIS data; ability to synthesize information and data from a variety of sources.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to review and analyze data to ensure accuracy.
Good judgement – knowing when to escalate an issue.
