The University of Central Missouri (UCM) has experienced dramatic growth in international student enrollment over the past several years. UCM seeks a seasoned individual with demonstrated success in international recruitment. Reporting directly to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, the Chief International Recruitment Officer at UCM is responsible for furthering UCM’s success in internationalization by developing and executing an annual international recruitment plan designed to both enhance student diversity and achieve international student enrollment growth with quality. The Chief International Recruitment Officer engages in extensive international travel and represents UCM at a vast array of recruitment functions occurring in countries targeted annually for special recruitment attention. This position serves as the primary point of contact for prospective international students, agents, secondary and post-secondary international educators, embassy attaches and overseas education centers. The Chief International Recruitment Officer is expected to work in cooperation with multiple UCM offices and academic departments for the purpose of arranging on-campus meetings for international visitors; creating and disseminating international recruitment publications; coordinating advertisements for international recruitment purposes; monitoring and awarding international scholarships to eligible applicants; and developing fully vetted articulation agreements with selected two and four year post-secondary institutions located abroad. Additionally, the Chief International Recruitment Officer is expected to maintain a network of international education agents and oversee each agent under UCM contract. Managing agent training schedules and timely payment for agent services rendered are also essential duties of the Chief International Recruitment Officer. This position must work closely with admission professionals as well as our CRM coordinator to ensure that international student leads received from multiple sources are included in a strategically developed communication flow plan. An understanding of what a specific secondary or post-secondary academic qualification earned outside the USA represents along with grade point average equivalencies is expected. The Chief International Recruitment Officer is expected to be familiar with immigration regulations and procedures governing international students residing in the USA. Approximately 12 weeks of international travel can be anticipated annually. At times, this position requires evening and weekend work. Knowledge of UCM’s undergraduate and graduate academic programs, as well as international admissions processes are strongly preferred.
