The Pharmaceutical Outcomes & Policy Department invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Professor who will also be named as the Dr. Perry A. Foote Eminent Scholar, which carries with it an endowment controlled by the holder. The recipient will also be in a position to have a leadership role in the recruitment of a junior faculty member in the department. The Department’s focus in research and graduate training is centered on the evaluation of drugs and related medical technology. This focus includes classic pharmacoepidemiologic work in drug safety and comparative effectiveness, pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research, as well as pharmaceutical health services research.
The College of Pharmacy, ranks among the top ten colleges of pharmacy in the nation, is located at the main campus of the University of Florida, the flagship AAU institution of the State of Florida. The College is based in one of the largest integrated academic health centers in the country, with Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health and Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as UF Health and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, situated on a campus serving over 50,000 students. The growing department consists of 10 full-time faculty in addition to affiliated faculty. It has an internationally recognized residential graduate program with 26 PhD students and a growing online MS program with 150+ students.
The successful candidate will engage in productive interdisciplinary research and have a federally funded research program, provide high-quality teaching, and participate in service activities at various levels
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or similar academic training in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research or a related field. Appointment requires demonstration of sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency that are consistent with appointment to rank of a Full Professor at a research-intensive university. Candidates are expected to have demonstrated a vigorous, independent and federally funded research program.
