Due to continued growth, we are looking for COO who will be responsible for driving our strategic and operational direction through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives and values of the Firm. The COO provides leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure the Firm has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively maintain and grow the Firm and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
Our COO will:
Participate in the strategic objectives, vision, mission, and strategic planning of the Firm and provide day-to-day leadership and management that mirrors our mission and core values
Build, motivate, and lead a high performance management team; attract, recruit, and retain members of the team as needed, fostering a success-oriented, accountable environment
Support the Executive Committee in all aspects of Firm governance
Assist in coordination and planning of and participate in all Executive Committee, Partner, Pipeline growth, and strategic planning meetings and retreats, as well as staff meetings
Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate Firm’s short-term and long-term fiscal performance.
Manage capital planning and expenditures
Oversee functional areas: IT, Human Resources, Growth, Administration, Accounting, and Finance
Provide comprehensive financial reporting, analysis and evaluation
Coordinate Firm commercial insurance for Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, Property/Liability coverage, Cyber Security, and Umbrella liability coverage
Formulate goals and drive results from practice groups, working groups, committees, etc.
Represent the Firm with clients, business partners, and CPA community; meet and network regularly with other members of CPA community
Provide facility management, including administering lease documents, space planning, furniture and equipment purchasing, disaster management planning, and serve as liaison for maintenance issues
Qualified candidates will have:
Four-year degree in Accounting; CPA, CMA or CFM preferred
Five+ years of professional service in a CPA firm, plus ten years professional services management experience
Sound judgment and sense of humor
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build consensus
Experience effectively supervising others at various levels of the organization
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience with Microsoft Office suite; CCH Practice management software experience a plus
