The Director of Enterprise Services, as part of the Engineering Technology Services (ETS), is a key IT leadership position and participates in collaborative efforts such as IT governance and strategic planning; as the principal technical advisor to the CIO and other ETS Directors, is forward-thinking and stays abreast of trends in networking and computing, in particular; collaborates and consults with the Senior Director of Research Computing; leads in establishing overall technical and network architectures, requirements and standards; oversees Active Directory Domain Services, network and data center operations; provides appropriate performance monitoring, and promotes continuous improvements which include defining goals and objectives for the Enterprise team as well as balancing competing priorities; within ETS, has responsibility for enterprise-level computing capacity, server and storage services, data infrastructure, data center operations, networks, application/web development and all related activities; has primary responsibility for technologies including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Server, SQL, Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, Cisco networking and enterprise storage; leads efforts to identify and resolve complex technical incidents and support incident and problem resolution; in planning and deploying enterprise services, considers all potential capacity and delivery alternatives; ensures that the College’s computational, server, storage, middleware, and data network components work in an integrated and holistic fashion to support the College’s applications and business processes, regardless of how the infrastructure services are provisioned; ensures the Enterprise service delivery and team members intersect with distributed IT units throughout the College; engages and motivates a team of senior technical professionals; recruits, motivates, conducts performance evaluations, develops and manages the staff, and delegates and assigns work to achieve College and University objectives; leads cross functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature; communicates effectively with multiple campus constituencies; leads activities that result in planning documents, statement(s) of requirements, proposals, project plans, presentations, performance metrics, budgets, and advocacy materials suited to a variety of audiences; utilizes a deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security and the applications/services they enable, as well as the criticality of maintaining strong connections between the respective teams within IT.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience; extensive experience with successful management of large-scale networks, development or re-engineering of systems and processes, managing hybrid technical environments and system engineering and/or operations experience within a complex environment; extensive experience in management of a technical team of at least 5 senior engineers and as lead of complex infrastructure projects; success working in collaborative, stakeholder and consensus-driven environments; excellent written and spoken communication skills; 1 to 3 years of experience in financial management; considerable experience in leading cross-functional project teams, data center operations, network optimization and/or project management leadership; strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, virtualization technology and enterprise storage solutions; considerable experience in presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; ability to write proposals or recommendations for IT leadership; considerable experience managing application development teams and/or working with vendors during negotiations.
Advance degree from college or university; higher education experience; experience leading organizational change and/or change management skills; experience with developing a technical team; hands on experience with supporting Active Directory and/or managing enterprise storage solutions; industry certifications (ITIL, PMP, etc.).
Target Salary: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 Annually
