Position Summary: The Director of International Admissions is responsible for performing a wide variety of admissions and recruitment duties in support of the Office of International Admissions and the University’s goals and objectives. The director will plan, implement, and evaluate admissions activities in support of meeting institutional recruitment and revenue goals.
The Director reports to the Vice President for Enrollment and University Communications. The expected start date for this position is January 3, 2018.

Work with academic colleges to establish how to best coordinate and assist the colleges in meeting university admission goals based on admission criteria.
Improve and develop strategic ways to increase the effectiveness of each step to enroll a student, including the steps from inquiry to application/application to admit/admit to enrolled student.
Supervise training and develop expertise of full-time staff and work-study students.
Direct decision-making, and allocation of departmental budget.
Develop communication flow plans through Hobson's EMT Connect.
Develop and produce a marketing and advertising plan for international enrollment to include publications, web, e-communications and ad placement. Research, coordinate, and evaluate advertising opportunities with outside services.
Recruit overseas by collaboratively assessing strategic information to include data such as enrollment numbers by country, university and International Admission’s goals, and the national Open Doors report. Plan, implement and execute trip preparation details.
Research and evaluate foreign credentials in student applications, including those as requested by academic departments.
Evaluate applications for admissibility to the university and determine maximum transfer hours.
Cultivate relationships with overseas representatives, educational institutions, embassies, overseas advising offices, and international partners.
Work with academic departments to research, develop, and prepare academic articulation and transfer agreements.
Prepare reports, proposals and written analysis regarding operational activities and services.
Coordinate development and support of orientation and other programs for international students.
Serve on campus committees as assigned by the VP for Enrollment Management.
Oversee foreign credential evaluation process.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of SEVIS and international student immigration regulations.
Cultural sensitivity and knowledge of common international business practices.
Proficiency in another language is preferred.
Must handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
Proven ability to supervise a team and evaluate the work of others.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to communicate and work with a variety of people of varying backgrounds; ability to counsel students and their families.
Demonstrated ability to express complex ideas for oral presentations and in written documents.
Excellent problem solving abilities.
Excellent computer skills, including MS Office proficiency.
Ability to adapt to changing technologies, processes and procedures.
A bachelor's degree in international business, marketing, education, international relations, or related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. However, higher education experience will be taken into consideration.
A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in higher education is required including at least three (3) years of experience in the following areas: international recruitment, recruitment and marketing, immigration regulations governing student scholars, and extensive international travel.
A suitable combination of education and experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications.
